                    2009 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Professional Mule and Donkey Trainer

 

NOW IS THE TIME TO ENROLL FOR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS 

 

Steve's training program has 4 apprentices each

 

Cost of the programs is $2500.00 per month.  Steve requires each apprentice

who desires to be a professional to have one riding mule and one colt to start. 

Steve will have other mules for each apprentice to train.  Each Apprentice will

have training programs 36 hours per week with weekends off. 

At the time of graduation each student will have completed average of 120 hours

of training in round pen thinking, ground foundation, basic health and care, basic

farrier and mule communication skills on the ground and in the saddle.

This program is also available for people who want to train as professionals for

driving and packing.

General Clinic Registration Information

NOTICE:  Clinics and other equine activities at Queen Valley Mule Ranch fall under Arizona Equine Activity Statute § 12 553

SEI-certified equestrian helmets are highly recommended for all participants, and required for those under 18 years old. 

NOTICE:  Equines brought in from outside of Arizona must have current certificate of health including Coggins test. Please see additional information at the Arizona Department of Agriculture—Office of the State Veterinarian web site at http://www.azda.gov/ASD/state_vet.htm

All riders and mules must be pre registered for clinics.  Steve Limits his saddle mule clinics to 10 mules and riders so he can give each one personal attention.

Spectators/Audits:  You are encouraged to let us know you are coming, ask questions, and have fun. Please pre-register; print and complete a Clinic Registration Form Liability Release  and Photography Release  then mail them, along with a 50% deposit (example: $25 deposit for 2 day Art of Communication clinic spectator/audit), to Queen Valley Mule Ranch, Inc., 1855 W. Running Deer, Queen Valley, AZ  85218.  Make checks payable to "Q.V.M.R.".  We will send you confirmation and a map how to get to the clinic. 

Participant Pre-registration:   Please print and complete the Clinic Registration Form, Liability Release and Photography Release; then mail them, along with a 50% deposit (example: $85 deposit for 2 day Art of Communication clinic), to Queen Valley Mule Ranch, Inc., 1855 W. Running Deer, Queen Valley, AZ  85219.  Make checks payable to "Q.V.M.R.".  We will send you confirmation and a map how to get to the clinic. 

For colt starting, problem mules: Steve works with colt starting and problem mules Thursday and Friday preceding his clinics. Please contact Steve for more information. 

Friday night symposiums, held before each clinic, are free to the public.  This is an opportunity to visit personally with Steve.  He will talk with all clinic participants so that he can gear the clinic to the needs of the mules and owners. Bring all your family and friends!

Cancellations: If you can not make it to the clinic you have registered for, you must contact us 15 days prior to the clinic for reimbursement.
